We currently have a collection of photographs and related materials for the Albion community.  Visit the museum weekends now through Labor Day Sunday (12:00-3:00) to view this temportrary collection on display in the museum!

Did you know that Albion was named around 1844, apparently based on Sir Francis Drake’s landing somewhere on the northern California coast and which he called “New Albion.”   Albion derives from an ancient name for Britain, as the Latin word albus is translated as white, presumably a reference to Britain’s famed White Cliffs of Dover.  Our Albion does not sport any white cliffs, but includes the bluffs along California's State Route 1. Historical images of the Albion area as well as pioneer family files (see Little River Pioneers) are maintained in the Museum.
